The Bodegueros had no defense
United Bodegas of America (UBA) was born in 2018, in New York City, driven by the urgent need to protect and give a voice to small retailers.
It all began after a tragic episode of violence – known as the Junior case – that deeply marked our community.
That event revealed a painful truth: the bodega owners had no organization to represent and defend them.
Motivation
A group of merchants joined together to create an entity to answer the call for advocacy and representation.

We are an organization dedicated to defend the interests of bodegueros, their businesses and families.

We value those men and women who day in and day out sustain their communities by working tirelessly behind the counter.

We help, advise and assist all bodegueros and small businesess for their commercial progress.

We promote the education and training of bodegueros and small retailers to provide an increasingly professional service.
