New York Bodegas’ unite for a better future!

Today, more than ever, bodega owners are the beating heart of every corner of our city. From Harlem to the Bronx, from Queens to Brooklyn, bodegas don’t just sell products: they support families, build community, and bring New York to life.

That is why the United Bodegas of America (UBA), an organization representing more than 14,000 bodegas across the state, has decided to take a firm and clear stand. Our president, Radhames Rodríguez, officially announced his endorsement of ZOHRAN MAMDANI as a candidate for Mayor of New York City.

Why? Because this is a critical time for small businesses and working families. Wineries have faced years of unfair fines, slow permits and lack of real support. But Mamdani’s proposal brings a concrete and possible change:

  • Reduce fines to small businesses by 50%.
  • Expedite permits to open new warehouses.
  • Multiply by a factor of five the funds to support small traders.

These are real measures that strengthen our communities from within!

Zohra Mamdani has also shown sensitivity and commitment to our security. Your willingness to reduce police response times in emergencies and to support the installation of panic buttons in warehouses demonstrates that you listen to us, understand us and value us.

When he proposed opening city-run stores, he listened to our concerns. Instead of ignoring us, it agreed to analyze alternatives that would include the wineries in the basic food access plans. That openness to dialogue is what we need in a mayor: someone who works with us, not against us.

We winemakers are the soul of the neighborhoods. We serve families, children, senior citizens, workers. Therefore, this endorsement is not a political favor, it is a declaration of love for our community. Zohra Mamdani’s affordability and fairness agenda represents exactly what we stand for every day from our wineries.

🗳️ This November 4, let’s get out and vote for Zohra Mamdani.
Let’s do it for the security, affordability and fairness our families and businesses deserve.

The United Wineries of America invites all winemakers and New Yorkers to join this cause.
Because when wineries unite, New York moves forward!
